Week 2: 25 Middle-Schoolers, a Dozen Cops, and the Provo MTC

Well, a lot happened in the last week! We'll get to the subject line in a bit, but I guess we'll start with Sunday with my last day in the Fayetteville 1st Ward. Loved listening to the talks there and enjoyed getting to go to second hour with the young men one last time. Anyways, Monday was the last day of the online MTC and we enjoyed learning as a district on zoom one last time before meeting in person... Last Zoom class with our teacher, Sister Snyder (1st row, second column) (We also had a guest teacher, Elder Colton (2nd row, 1st column) who's a service missionary at the MTC. Apparently, he's the son of one of my engineering professors I had last fall which was kind of cool) Tuesday was perhaps the biggest this week... Literally woke up at 3:30am to catch my 6:00am flight to Salt Lake. For whatever reason, we didn't leave the terminal until like 6:30, so I felt like I was in Home Alone at Chicago O'hare trying to catch my connecting flight. (Last pics with ...

Week 1: Week One, and Done

Wow, this week has been a lot! From all-day zoom meetings to cringey training videos, the first week of the MTC is wrapping up! There's a couple of non-members on this list, so I've included a little dictionary at the bottom of the email for some words that I think might be helpful to define.   Anyways, this first week of training has been done at home. I'll be heading to Provo next Tuesday to go to the in-person Provo MTC, which will be really fun and exciting.  I'll be there until June 6th, which is when I fly out to Louisville to begin my actual assignment.    But before then, there's lots of stuff to get done. My training started on Monday, and to be honest, the day started off as a bit of a drag. I didn't have my companion or a meeting with my district until 2:30 in the afternoon, so I basically just watched some of the online training videos.
