Week 2: 25 Middle-Schoolers, a Dozen Cops, and the Provo MTC

Well, a lot happened in the last week! We'll get to the subject line in a bit, but I guess we'll start with Sunday with my last day in the Fayetteville 1st Ward. Loved listening to the talks there and enjoyed getting to go to second hour with the young men one last time. Anyways, Monday was the last day of the online MTC and we enjoyed learning as a district on zoom one last time before meeting in person...

Last Zoom class with our teacher, Sister Snyder (1st row, second column) (We also had a guest teacher, Elder Colton (2nd row, 1st column) who's a service missionary at the MTC. Apparently, he's the son of one of my engineering professors I had last fall which was kind of cool)

Tuesday was perhaps the biggest this week... Literally woke up at 3:30am to catch my 6:00am flight to Salt Lake. For whatever reason, we didn't leave the terminal until like 6:30, so I felt like I was in Home Alone at Chicago O'hare trying to catch my connecting flight.

(Probably an iconic shot from ORD Airport. This Samsung galaxy A13 camera is borderline a joke compared to the iPhone)

The plane rides were interesting. Sat next to someone on the first flight who is from Louisville and has actually talked with the missionaries before and knew what the temple was. So that was a fun little conversation.

(Nice little shot of Bear Lake from the plane window on the way to Salt Lake. Far more blue than the greenish Utah Lake)

Anyways, once picked up at the airport by my grandparents and hannah.larson4, we kind of just drove around Utah visiting a few temples and taking the scenic route home...

(Some lookout in Draper)

Now to the subject line... Tuesday, we went to Freddie's (the burger place) for lunch and there were like 25 middle-schoolers there vibing with absolutely now parents or teachers. Hannah and I were so confused. It was weird. Then like 10 cops on their lunch break showed up. It was such a weird juxtaposition. Sadly, no pictures of this riveting event...something about privacy rights...

We had my last dinner that night and so much family was able to come!

Ok I'm gonna try and wrap this up with as few words as possible because I don't want to bore anyone. Basically, I entered the physical MTC Wednesday afternoon and the campus is absolutely beautiful! We took a few pictures on the temple grounds before saying goodbye. It was awesome getting to meet our district in person! I love them all so much! We've loved having classes together, growing closer to Christ, and feeling the Spirit. Today was our first in-person P-day, so we went to the temple this morning together as a district at 8:30 and then after lunch we went and played some sand-volleyball together. Anyways, hopefully this wasn't too long. Just want to leave with my testimony. I love teaching and helping people come to learn the gospel that I absolutely love! I love learning in all of the classes that I'm in and am so grateful that I get to grow in my testimony of Jesus Christ. I'm so grateful for Him, and all He's done for me. I'm glad I get to grow closer to Him on my mission and help others do the same.

Anyways, some more pictures follow and some definitions... Love you all!

(I love the temple so much!)

Dictionary:

Temple - This is a place where members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints go to perform sacred ordinances (religious rituals where we make promises with God). You can learn more on temples.churchofjesuschrist.org

Sons of Mosiah - This is a group of people found in the Book of Mormon (Another Testament of Jesus Christ (basically it works together with the Bible)). The Sons of Mosiah were initially really rebellious against religion and the commandments of God but who had a great conversion story. They then became missionaries for Jesus Christ and helped convert many people (this was around 100 BC)

(Let me know if any other words don't make sense. It's hard because I've been a member of the Church my whole life and we basically have our own vocabulary. So yeah)

Anyways, talk to you all soon!
Much Love,

Elder Creer
