Week 89: Flash Floods in Etown

Image
Hey y'all! Another week down in the KLM! This was another good one. No more marriage seminars, but we did end up teaching that guy yesterday, so that's a vibe. Let's see. It literally rained everyday this week, and was low-key mega depressing. It was also the first full week of the transfer, so we had a ridiculous amount of meetings. Like sheesh, it felt like we didn't start proselyting until 4pm a couple of days this week. But we still got it done! We found 8 new friends, and I'm just in awe at how elect Etown is! We are making a push as a zone to have 55 collective new friends this week, and we're excited to see some faith put to work.  Enough with the numbers though. Let's talk about some people. Our friend Jessica came to Church yesterday! We were so excited! This is the first time in like 8 weeks we've had someone at Church and we were so happy to see her there. One of the members is apparently her son's pre-school teacher, and the Ward just ral...

Week 88: Marriage Seminar Below Zero!

Image
Y'all. This week literally ate. And left absolutely no crumbs. Probably one of the most miracle filled weeks of my mission. To start, Jazzy in Shelbyville was baptized!!!!! Holy cow, I was so excited for her!! She was so brave and was baptized! I got to zoom in to the baptism and talk with her for a second, and it was just so good to see them. Elder Murray baptized her, and it looks like the McGinns were there as well, so just super exciting stuff!! But for the rest of this week? It was insane. The temperatures and wind chill were consistently below zero, but by the Lord's grace, we found 11 new friends to teach this week! Most people in a week on my mission, and it included a super elect family! Oh, transfers happened, lol. I'm running it back with Elder Thomas for another 6 weeks here in Etown. Some stats from last transfer: - 1400 Testifying contacts - 100 Lessons Taught - 23 New People Found - Reactivated a New member The transfer literally ate. This week was a straight...

Week 87: Forest Giants in the Snow

Image
Hey Y'all! It's been a good week here in the KLM. We enjoyed some good snow last night here, so that's super exciting! Bullet Point Time:  - Two Exchanges with DLs this week. Bike Elders and the Shepherdsville Elders - Tried hard to get 30 lessons again this week. We got 24. - Trained at Old Kentucky's District Council. Got some Freddy's afterwords - Radcliff Elders Paid for Ft. Knox District Lunch at Boom Bozz because they have an aggressive amount of money. #TrioLife - Found 6 people 2 weeks in a row. Surely we'll get friends to Church now - Last P-day we went to an interesting place. There were forest giant things made out of wood which was super interesting. - The weather was so fun this week. Yesterday's temps were in the single digits and teens and it was snowing. It was so hype. But our tires were also at like 25 psi, so thanks to Lowe's free air. - Absolute chad of member meals this past week. The members here are awesome.  - Crazy this is the ...

Week 86: zoco planes type beat

Image
Pretty deep week. Super ward council type week. But yeah, Tuesday started off with a bang. We enjoyed the absolute grind of 80 testifying contacts. It was cool.  Zoco was on Wednesday and it was awesome. We drove up to Louisville for it, and it was so cool to drive past the airport and look at all the planes landing and taking off. Low key, that may have been one of my favorite parts of the day. But Zone Conference was actually really good. It's up their with my favorites from the mission. President McGinn taught about looking forward with faith. Specifically the type of faith found in the Book of Mormon, where the Prophets had faith of future events (like Christ's birth) such that they talked about it in the present and past tense.  We also are no longer going to be reciting the Kentucky Louisville Mission Culture, as the mission leader handbook has changed such that no mission should have logos, culture statements, etc. in order to promote unity amongst all missions with it ...

Week 85: New Year. 2024

Image
Hey y'all. Happy new year! Surely, everyone still asleep, but that'll just mean you'll wake up to an email from Elder Creer. What a way to start 2024 off. This week was unique. Had exchanges with the APs which were fun. They've both served in this area, and we had a baptism here that day, so they got to see a lot of the members. Since Elder Nelson left like 3 weeks ago, some of them definitely thought he had never left which was absolutely hilarious. We also got to go to another baptism for a friend in Shepherdsville which was really fun. But yeah, New Year's was pretty cool. We went over to a member family's and talked about their mission experience, and played Uno flip and take five. It was fun. But excited for the new things in 2024! Here's to a happy new year! Peace!
