Week 88: Marriage Seminar Below Zero!

Y'all.

This week literally ate. And left absolutely no crumbs.

Probably one of the most miracle filled weeks of my mission.

To start, Jazzy in Shelbyville was baptized!!!!! Holy cow, I was so excited for her!! She was so brave and was baptized! I got to zoom in to the baptism and talk with her for a second, and it was just so good to see them. Elder Murray baptized her, and it looks like the McGinns were there as well, so just super exciting stuff!!

But for the rest of this week? It was insane. The temperatures and wind chill were consistently below zero, but by the Lord's grace, we found 11 new friends to teach this week! Most people in a week on my mission, and it included a super elect family!

Oh, transfers happened, lol. I'm running it back with Elder Thomas for another 6 weeks here in Etown. Some stats from last transfer:
- 1400 Testifying contacts
- 100 Lessons Taught
- 23 New People Found
- Reactivated a New member

The transfer literally ate.

This week was a straight vibe though. Kentucky does not handle snow and ice, and low key kind of shut down, which was GREAT for missionary work, because everyone was home. I broke out my Mr. Mac coat that cost way to much money for what it is, and we braved the negative temperatures and went out and gathered Israel! It was heat.

On Friday, the mission was not allowed to drive because of the snow and ice, so at 8:30 in the morning in the 5⁰ weather, we walked 20 minutes to Kroger to try and find a shovel, and a bike tube for Elder Thomas's Bike. Needless to say, it was a shot in the dark to find either of those things at Kroger, but we saw a member there, and they offered to drive us to Walmart which was super nice of them. After spending too much money on a shovel, we were dropped off back home at 10:30am so that we could get the day started. The bike Elders graciously biked over to our apartment to give us a bike pump to fix Elder Thomas's tire, and with that, we went out and biked around Etown all day.

I literally almost died several times biking. I haven't biked in a few months, and it was low-key rough, but we felt so accomplished still doing missionary work even though we couldn't drive. We also got some pictures that were heat, so #forthegram and #worthit, you know?

Other fun stuff from the week?
- We sat in Big O tires for too many hours on Thursday because our tires were bald after 14,500 miles of driving. We did weekly planning at the Church for the first hour and a half thinking they'd be done by then (since they said it would take an hour), but no. It took 2 more hours when we showed back up because our car had not moved an inch. It shot our day in the foot. Judge Judy was on in the Lobby, and that was just about the most obnoxious show I've heard in a HOT minute. Like C-tier acting fr fr.
- Developed a super awesome 5 week transfer of faith challenge for the zone. It'll be heat. We're super excited
- Subject Line? On our Bike day, we set up a lesson at the Church at 4pm with a friend we had met the day before while knocking. He texted us around 1:30 saying he'd be there as he just woke up. Well, after biking 4.5 miles (and having Jello legs and a shot cardiovascular system), he wasn't there at 4. We had to go, so we left him a voice message and biked home. The next morning we get a text that read:

"My apologies. I went up to the church at 2pm and found myself in a marriage seminar. I may have goofed up but knowledge is power yo. I had to be at work later that night. That's why I didn't answer. I was dead."

LOLOL! There was some marriage seminar at the Church for the stake on strengthening marriage going on all day, and he pulled up for it. Ahahahaha, we died laughing. "Knowledge is power" lol. Hopefully, we can meet with him soon.

- Probably some other stuff.

Just know that this week was awesome, and we felt so accomplished after teaching 25 lessons and having an absolute blast getting the Work done.

Love y'all tons!!!
