Week 89: Flash Floods in Etown
Hey y'all! Another week down in the KLM!
This was another good one. No more marriage seminars, but we did end up teaching that guy yesterday, so that's a vibe.
Let's see. It literally rained everyday this week, and was low-key mega depressing. It was also the first full week of the transfer, so we had a ridiculous amount of meetings. Like sheesh, it felt like we didn't start proselyting until 4pm a couple of days this week. But we still got it done! We found 8 new friends, and I'm just in awe at how elect Etown is! We are making a push as a zone to have 55 collective new friends this week, and we're excited to see some faith put to work.
Enough with the numbers though. Let's talk about some people. Our friend Jessica came to Church yesterday! We were so excited! This is the first time in like 8 weeks we've had someone at Church and we were so happy to see her there. One of the members is apparently her son's pre-school teacher, and the Ward just rallied around her, which was so awesome to see. We also had a facebook friend named Ace come to Church. Picture this. A man you've never seen before walks into the lobby of the Church, looks at you with a grin in his eye, and says "Is one of y'all Hunter?" So that's how we met Ace for the first time. Cool guy, and seemed like he enjoyed Church.
Other things this week? 2 (brand new) cars broke down in the Zone within 24 hours of each other. I felt bad for our vehicle coordinator so I texted him...
"Sounds like it's been a rough 24 hours for cars in the Etown Zone. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help! Love ya, Elder Z!"
He replied with
"I sure love you, too. E-Town is only part of the day’s activities. It has been brutal today. I still love being here with all of you, there are just days that are more challenging."
So pray for the cars of the KLM I guess. And for Elder Z.
Had Mexican food twice this week. Once with a member, and once with the Old Kentucky District. The former food was a vibe with conversation mid. The latter food was mid with conversation vibe.
(both conversations were actually great, I just loved how those sentences looked)
We exchanged with the Bike Elders again this week. This time I was with Elder Reid and biked around town. It was actually super fun to bike, and thankfully it didn't really rain at all while we biked
As for the subject line, it absolutely poured down rain Saturday night, and it was pretty cool to drive through. We could barely see the road. I'm just glad that we finished knocking doors like 5 minutes before it started to let loose. There was also some pretty cool lightning which was fun as well.
Anyways, hopefully y'all had a great week! I pray for y'all everyday!
Peace!
