Week 101: Thunder Over Louisville
What a Week! We're ending with a bang over here in the KLM, that's for sure!
This past week was pretty fun. We did a lot of hard work out in the heat, but it was worth it as we found a lot of cool new potentials. It's been reminding me of my Winchester and Shelbyville days with the sunny heat we've been getting. It seriously has been gorgeous weather. We found a lot of cool new people this week, and we're excited to meet again with them this coming week.
We went on exchanges with the Bike Elders this week. I stayed here in New Albany with my son(!) Elder Lichlyter which was a super fun reunion exchange. It was kind of crazy since we've hardly served around each other since our time in Corbin, and it was so good to be together again. We started our exchange by selling my bike to some guy named Ethan in a Bass Pro Shops parking lot. So that was a vibe. The only problem is that he paid in cash and the nearest Bank of America ATM is in Lexington. So rip. But it's all good.
Ok, now time for probably the most fun part of the week!
Thunder over Louisville was SOO cool! It's up there as one of my favorite proselyting experiences on the mission! Essentially it's a huge festival that happens every year, 2 weeks before Derby Weekend. It's a huge airshow all throughout the day and then one of the best firework shows in the country at night. Some say the world, but idk about that one chief. (sadly we had to be home before the fireworks though😥). We got together with 3 other companionships, and we hit the ground doing a white boarding activity and went around asking people what brings them joy. It was so fun to watch people write down things all while F-18s are flying overhead and whatnot. But yeah, it was so cool. See pics.
Anyways, we're excited for the upcoming week! We have MLC and interviews, and I'm excited for it all!
Love y'all so much!
