Week 8: Musings of a Missionary
This week was both a blur and went by crazy fast, but also like super long and exhausting, so I guess that's mission life for you.
Zone conference was absolutely amazing. I loved feeling the Spirit throughout the day filled with guidance from our mission leaders. It was a great day to just take a step back and breathe for a second. As I said last week, I played the piano for zone conference which went well I guess. It's always good when you don't embarrass yourself in front of like 40 people. Actually there was a pretty cool miracle about playing the piano. Sister Alder had a prompting to change the closing hymn to "I Am a Child of God." When that was announced (like right as we were about to sing the closing hymn) she just kind of looked at me and I at her. And I'm like telling her via body language, "play it plz" (because she's an amazing playing piano player). Thankfully she did, since I hadn't practiced that song in a hot minute. But yeah. I did great on the prelude, opening hymn, and postlude music, so there's that. My comps and I sat with President and Sister Alder for lunch which was fun. She asked me how I learned to play the piano, and I said (since everyone knows I love to brag about myself) that I taught myself how to play. So I guess I'm now gonna be asked to play at every zone conference the rest of my mission. It was fun though, I enjoyed it.
The rest of the week was interesting. I felt like it was up and down, and up and down all week with some of our friends. Thankfully the Lord is infinitely more powerful than Satan. Let me tell ya, Satan does NOT want some of our friends to get baptized. Since we're so busy, when we face a setback with one of our friends, I really don't even think about it that much. But when things change and the Lord's power prevails, I'm just like L O L, sorry Satan, get good. Fun times on the mission.
Hopefully that was some good commentary for y'all.
Anyways, looking at my camera roll, I realize I have not had the audacity to pull out my Galaxy A13 (and I unfortunately don't think I'm going to stop laughing at that) this week that much. The only picture I've taken that I can legally share (we'll leave it at that), is of my dinner a couple of nights ago where I made a meal from home (Chicken, Broccoli, and Rice). Enjoy the bloated angle, stunning lighting, and awe-inspiring colors. Oh, and I also had a photo shoot on Elder Hayes' phone. That was fun. Enjoy!
Love y'all, talk to you soon!
