Week 20: "That is a lot of years!"
Well howdy y'all, another week gone by!
I hope you all loved conference as I know I did. General conference is seriously my favorite time of year, as we get to be filled with the Spirit learning from ordained servants of God. Also, President Nelson, what on earth! You can't be sitting in a chair like that! You have to make it to 100 years! I thought his facebook post after the Saturday morning session was so funny. He said that he's lived for more than half of the years the organized Church has been around and then he said "That is a lot of years" which I literally laughed out loud to. It was so funny to me. The man defies his age, but I guess he needed to sit down. Lame. Also, 4 temples in Mexico City! That is like unheard of, even for Utah.
Anyways, we also had zone conference this week which was great as well. We focused a lot on Chapter 4 of Preach My Gospel, and how to better connect with the Holy Ghost. In my humble opinion, I played the piano phenomenally and received several compliments from a variety of missionaries eager to know how long I've played for. I humbly told them I've played for a decade and witnessed them froth at the mouth in jealousy. Ahahahahaha, I kid, I kid. Froth is such a good word isnt it!?! Hopefully y'all don't think I'm a creep (or apostate-level prideful)
Other than 3 days of all day meetings, this week was pretty uneventful. We've been working a lot with the members in our Branch, which I've really enjoyed, but at the same time it kind of feels like our area is falling apart in terms of teaching investigators. Our friend Alan is still on date for baptism, but it feels like all of our other friends are kind of falling through the cracks. So I guess it's time to start finding some new people (yaaaayyy). Talking to strangers is so fun.
I really didn't take any noteworthy pics this week. Super lame, I know. I guess I'll treat y'all to a picture of me writing this email while the other Elders are fishing. You can tell by my expression the joy I'm having. Enjoy the coat over my head to keep the sun out of my face.
The weather though, is seriously gorgeous right now. It's been fun to be outside the last few weeks, and I hope that the good weather will continue for a little longer.
Anyways, sorry y'all. This email's pretty lame. Like not even remotely funny. I guess not a lot of funny things happen when 3 of your proselyting days are spent not doing real missionary work. Hopefully next week some interesting things will happen as it's my potential last week in Henderson. I really don't want to leave (like at all), but we'll see what happens next Saturday with transfer calls.
Love y'all so much and hope y'all have a great week!
