Week 22: Some umm... spooky szn I guess

 Welcome back y'all!

It is officially sweater weather! Fun fact: the missionary department deems "hastags" apostate and filters out any email with a hashtag in the subject line sent to us. Mom and I found this out the hard way as she sent over the blog a couple of weeks ago with a hastag in the subject line. So I guess I won't say #sweaterweather or #spookyszn in my email. Oops, I just did. *yikes!* So hopefully, you know, this email will go through with my sinful use of #. (As what could be a greater sin than this?)

Moving on from that, this week was pretty busy. Lots of cool lessons and member visits. We had a young adult member move in to our branch, who we've been working with over the phone the last month or so. For a variety of reasons he couldn't come to Church for a bit, because of his situation. But he came last weekend, and this weekend he totally just brought a friend with him to Church. Like what?!? That certainly makes missionary work easy, when your friends just do it for you. Let me tell ya.

Hesitant to put this as I don't want my social status in society to plummet to the floor. But the new youth album came out, and pretty much all the songs are 4 or 5 out of 10s, would not recommend. BUT, track #9 (oof I did it again) "Sticks and Stones" is an absolute bop. Straight bars. Especially for being Christian pop. I'd give it an 8/10. Give it a listen (if you're a missionary... with limited music... and have nothing else to listen too...). Plz don't ostracize me...

But anyways, district council was also fun. Our district barely changed from last transfer, and we just got 1 new Sister. We opened up the floor with a fun get to know you question... "Dating life. Explain." Rather fun to hear everyone's drama and their responses. Couple of "Dear John's" (both written TO missionaries and written BY missionaries. The latter was some pretty funny stuff). We also filled out a get to know you survey that we'll use throughout the transfer. Favorite question on it was "Favorite word." I silently grinned as I scribbled the best word known to humanity.

Last night was pretty funny as one of our last contacts was in some apartment complex with a playground. There was some elementary school kids playing there, and one of the kids yells out and says "SHEESH, you lookin' fresh!"
To which I say, "thanks man! how's it going!"
"You in college man?!"
"Yeah I went to college for a year, but now I'm a missionary talking about Jesus!"
"Can you talk to me about Jesus?!"

One of the more fun interactions I've had. Ahahahaha... "Sheesh! you lookin' fresh!" That killed me.

BUT, I think that's enough for today. Lots of good work being done here, even when it's slow sometimes. We had a huge turnout in the Branch yesterday for Sacrament meeting, so that was pretty cool. Anyways, love y'all and hope you have a great rest of week!
