Week 33: Roadtrippin' in the KLM
Insert cliche greeting on the 2nd day of the year!!! lol
What a week! To be honest we've done so much this week, I can't even remember half of it.
So... Monday, we went to Cumberland falls which was actually so cool because it was still recovering (is that the right word??) from the -20⁰ weather from last weekend. See pictures I guess.
This week my companions and I got to go to the temple in Crestwood. It was so amazing, and I loved getting to be back in the House of the Lord. Honestly, it was a little overwhelming to go back into the mission field after our session, as it was so nice to be able to sit in the Celestial room, not wearing the name tag. But, this is the greatest work I could be doing on earth, and I look forward to what the future holds.
The next day we had new missionary training for Elder Lichlyter, and it was a brief 5 hour meeting. We enjoyed discussing techniques on training, mental health with our new mission counselor, and other fun topics.
The weekend we saw a lot of cool miracles finding new people and were even able to get a new person to Church which was super cool.
Anyways, transfer news is here. Elder Callahan will be moving up to Richmond to be Zone Leader of our zone. I'm really glad I'll still be able to serve around him as he's an awesome missionary, and I'll miss him a lot. But I look forward to hearing about the rest of his mission
And then came my transfer news. I'll still be here in Corbin with Elder Lichlyter which is nice. But basically I look at transfer boards Sunday morning, and it showed that I'm district leader. I was never told that in our transfer call, so I text our mission President saying "yes, hi. what is this?" to which he didn't respond for 8 hours. He then replied "Thank you for pointing that out. I failed to inform you have that assignment." And so that was unique. I guess I'm district leader now. It's funny because I literally wrote in my journal the previous night, "I'm glad I'm not the new district leader with those responsibilities," and then had to put a new entry in saying, "yeah psych."
So anyways, I'm excited to still be here in Corbin and finish up Elder Lichlyter's training. There's a lot of good potential here, and I look forward to what the new transfer will bring.
