Week 36: Exchanges and Busy-ness
Happy Monday Y'all. Hope all is well. Hope you enjoy my luke warm salutations, complete with passive aggressive periods.
This week has been busy! We've done a lot. And I took about zero pictures to prove it, so that's a bit of an L.
ANYways, we had a lot of good work this week complete with like 5 set-up member present lessons, and all 5 of those not working out. But that's all good, we still did a lot of good work this week and saw our friends progress. Remember that excommunicated friend. Turns out she wasn't ever officially excommunicated, so that's some serious progression if I've ever seen it. She even came to Church yesterday, which was super awesome. We also have been working with a less active member, who has read the Book of Mormon every day for the last week and a half (what!!!). He apparently was up all night with his granddaughter Saturday night, but still came to Church the next day. Granted, after Sacrament meeting he turned to us and said (in a half-asleep voice) "I think I'm gonna go home. I need to get some sleep." It was pretty funny, but I was just happy he was able to come for 1st hour and was glad to see him there.
We also went on exchanges this past week with the Zone Leaders up in Richmond. To preface, we had a member meal set up for the last 2 weeks with the millennials of the ward who have a baby named Kash (aka Boss Baby Kash). Super funny family, and they wanted me to pick the meal, so I chose tacos. Anyways, I purposefully didn't tell the ZLs this (since you know, Elder Callahan was my companion and all and served here for 6 months). Anyways, they informed us of exchange news and naturally I was going up to Richmond with Elder Ashton and Elder Callahan was coming back down here with Elder Lichlyter. Let's just say the voice memos back and forth in our chat were some of the funniest things I've heard. I guess I should have trusted President Nelson's phrase that "good inspiration is based on good information."
But yeah, Richmond was super fun though, so it's all good. It's where EKU is, and so we went on campus for about 5 seconds and then turned around because everyone had already left. But it was cool to see a fairly large college campus again. Anyways, we basically did a lot of Spirit-led door knocking that afternoon and evening, until we had a member meal with a super nice family who has a missionary of their own serving in Mexico. Anyways, good exchange, and the first time I've done one out of my area since my first transfer in the Marshallese area.
Anyways I don't even know what to talk about anymore. I'm forgetting everything from back home, and I feel like I'm losing myself in the service of the Lord. So I guess that's a good thing.
