Week 41: We've been (quote) going around... (close quote)

Happy 27th friends! Hope all is well!

Can't believe it's almost March of 2023. Crazy, let me tell ya.

Let's see, let's see. Started the week off with a flat tire. Kind of a fun experience, not gonna lie. Haven't changed a tire since we got a flat in Zion's National Park a few years ago, so it was kind of a fun. The donut wheel carried us to a local tire shop in which we sat in the lobby for an hour making calls and sending texts. When we were getting ready to pay, the guy comes out and says that we need to "tell our boss that this is a $29 piece of metal as he chucks the nail or whatever onto the table in front of us.

After that, this week felt like a lot of random things. We did some yellow dot contacting. Some door knocking. Some member visits. And even had a few awesome lessons. Our area is insane and has like 105 yellow dots because we get like 3 referrals a day, and our goal is to whittle that down to 50 by the end of Elder Barfuss' training. We'll see how that goes. It'll be interesting.

One of the more tender lessons I've had on the mission came down in Barbourville, Kentucky on Saturday. We taught a friend the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and as we were teaching how the Book of Mormon is "Another Testament of Jesus Christ," I told our friend how one of the things I've done in my scriptures is to mark everytime the Savior's name is mentioned. He looked kind of shocked, and then began to tear up as he told us that he started to do the same thing a few weeks ago. He said he stopped doing it though, because he said he looked through the book and "didn't want to run out of ink," which was kind of funny. I felt though that I made a connection with a child of God in that moment and that the Spirit touched his heart. So that was cool :)

Anyways. Some fun times doing some door knocking (tracting) this week. We met a Jehovah's Witness, had a lady park her car and get out and say that she's a non-practicing member but that if we ever need anything to give her a call, and a lot of interested people. I don't think I ever thought I'd say this, but door knocking is kind of fun, not gonna lie. Who would've thought. We've just been going around sharing scriptures and messages about Jesus Christ!

Anyways, it's my Mom's birthday this week, send her a happy birthday!!! Shout to the best Mom out there @jlady247!!!!

Hope y'all are all doing well! Life's hard, but turn to the Savior, and He will give you the strength you need to keep pushing!
