Week 45: skippin' down 16th avenue (into my) 8th transfer

Oh my goodness Taylor Swift has been stuck in my head ALL WEEK. They played Bad Blood at the original KFC and I about frothed at the mouth. Ahahahahaha I can't even say that with a straight face. Hopefully that brought some enjoyment, as I legit laughed out loud reading that over. To credit the subject line, I used my bike to proselyte for the first time on my mission. That was pretty fun. I was ridin down 16th avenue while realizing I have virtually no cardio endurance after not having done that for eons. We biked the streets of London for a solid 3 hours. So I guess what can I say, you know you love a London boy.  Ok, I'll stop. Ahh, I needed to laugh ridiculously there for a second. It was a mentally draining albeit good week. I've just been exhausted the last little bit. BUT, "faint, yet persevering" is my motto, so onward! Anyways, stream of consciousness bullet points and then I'll describe perhaps the biggest miracle of my mission:  - Staying here anoth...

Week 44: a day in the life of Corbin, KY

Hi. It's me, Margaret. That's a quote from something. I just don't know what. Anyways, this week was good. We had 8 lessons this week which was super awesome! That's probably the most I've had since last summer, when we were getting more like 15 a week, so hopefully this is the start to things picking up for Spring and summer. And 3 of those 8 had members participating! So that was really awesome. Our Ward started up a New and Prospective Melchizedek Priesthood holder class, and invited several of the people we've been working with (members and non-members) to join in on it. Honestly, I was a little frustrated with it at first, as I didn't think it was what those particular friends needed, and thought it would be way too in depth for them. But it turned out ok, and one of the friends that I was more worried about came up and said that he thought it was really good and helpful regarding what we've been talking about recently. So, God knows more than I d...

Week 43: You got mail!

Ahh so glad it's P-day. What a lovely weekly reoccurrence to rest and relax. This week saw some exchanges, interviews, 2 new families found, and a potential new friend on date for baptism!!! 🥳🥳 Yesterday, after Sacrament meeting, one of our friends who has come to Church for the last 2 years pretty consistently came up to us and asked if having a strong desire to gain a testimony of the Savior and His gospel would be sufficient for baptism. He has struggled with that for a long time, and this is a major step for him!! We are super excited for him, and told him that baptism is the beginning and is the strait gate that we enter. We don't need to (and we're not going to) have perfect faith at baptism, and so hopefully that will lead somewhere with him. Pray for Alan please!! As usual, interviews were great. Other than the fact that President Alder opened the interview by saying "So I understand we're being evicted?" To which I was shocked as I had no knowledge ...

Week 42: Reunion Exchange

Image
Well this was a fun week. Welcome back to the KLM Weekly everyone! Today is Friday March 3rd, 2023, and we're happy to give you the latest update on this week's happenings!! My name is Elder Creer, and this is my companion, Elder Callahan! It's a brisk 50 degrees here in Richmond, Kentucky with tornado watches in effect until 5pm for the greater Lexington area and 50+ mph winds for the rest of the night. Please stay in your apartments and don't exchange back with your regularly scheduled companion until tomorrow. Thank you, and God Bless! So that was my week, lol. We went on exchanges with the zone leaders starting Thursday after a zone leadership meeting. I went up to Richmond with Elder Callahan (my comp during the Christmas season), while his companion came down here to Corbin with Elder Barfuss. And thus commenced the Reunion Exchange of March 2023.  We had a pretty cool lesson with a friend on Thursday afternoon, did some door knocking, and then we finished off t...
