Week 44: a day in the life of Corbin, KY

 Hi. It's me, Margaret.

That's a quote from something. I just don't know what.
Anyways, this week was good.

We had 8 lessons this week which was super awesome! That's probably the most I've had since last summer, when we were getting more like 15 a week, so hopefully this is the start to things picking up for Spring and summer. And 3 of those 8 had members participating! So that was really awesome.

Our Ward started up a New and Prospective Melchizedek Priesthood holder class, and invited several of the people we've been working with (members and non-members) to join in on it. Honestly, I was a little frustrated with it at first, as I didn't think it was what those particular friends needed, and thought it would be way too in depth for them. But it turned out ok, and one of the friends that I was more worried about came up and said that he thought it was really good and helpful regarding what we've been talking about recently. So, God knows more than I do, and knows what His children need more than I do. I'm grateful I was humbled in that aspect this week.

Zone conference was this week. They announced again that missionaries are no longer allowed to use energy drinks, and I silently applauded the missionary medical department for now allowing missionaries to drink battery acid.
As always though, I enjoyed the ending of Zone conference as I heard departing missionary testimonies, and then the final testimonies of President and Sister Alder. Sister Alder talked about how she thinks about each of us frequently and marvels at how we keep going despite the challenges. That really touched my heart.

Yesterday, a less active member kept leaning over to me during Sacrament meeting and asking me where I'm from and what not. When I said Arkansas, he was first surprised, but then started asking me about the politics of Arkansas, and my political opinions. I gratefully said, "missionaries actually aren't allowed to talk about politics." To which he chuckled and playfully slapped me on the back. It was so funny, but at the same time so weird, lol

Anyways. I pretty much lost my voice all last week, and am finally starting to get it back, so that's nice.

But yeah, the grind continues. It's the last week of the transfer, and we have new missionary training up in Louisville on Wednesday. Should be an interesting week.
