Week 49: Reflections

Image
Well, week 49 in the books. Pretty good week, not going to lie. Lol, I feel like every week is the polar opposite of the previous week. Anyways, this week we enjoyed lots of door knocking, lots of member visits, and lots of attempted member participating lessons. Oh my goodness, the devil tried SO much to stop MPLs from happening this week! Like we literally had our friend and our member on over video chat for like 2 minutes, and then our friend's power went out and she couldn't call. Like oh my goodness! But it's ok. We also had a lady we were teaching couldn't meet because of certain things ("[Missionary standards] require that I answer No!" - Bob's Boss, from "The Incredibles"). Basically we bribed her and she then was happy to meet. We'll leave it at that. Ngl, that's kind of it for this week. The work just keeps on going, I guess. We've had a lot of great things this week, and I'm excited for what happens over the next few we...

Week 48: Dove vs. York

Wow, what a week. Not going to lie. This was a difficult one. I've been mentally drained and exhausted pretty much all week. There were some good moments, but overall, glad this one is in the books. Let's see. Monday, we washed the car. By hand. It was kind of an impulse decesion because I saw car soap in our pantry. Because that's just naturally where missionaries put car wash equipment. Probably 3 years ago. It was an interesting experience. We managed to turn nice and soapy water into brown and dirty water after about 5 minutes, and subsequently left streak marks all over the car. I was glad it rained the next day. And let's be clear, Elder Creer does not get wet. Said car hit 19,000 miles on Wednesday. Can't believe I've driven like 7,500 of those miles in about 3 months. 🚘🚙🚗 Wednesday was perhaps the best day of the week. We had interviews, and oh my goodness it was amazing! The interview was great, yes (we talked about family, next transfer, and whatnot...

Week 47: Holy Week

Image
Hope you all had a wonderful Holy Week leading up to Easter. It was a good week for us. I thoroughly enjoyed remembering the Savior again by reading over again the Easter stories in the New Testament and Book of Mormon. I also enjoyed sharing our Easter Message with our friends and members. Perhaps the most exciting thing this week! Alan got baptized!!!🥳🎊🥳 Literally so so so happy for him. He's been working with the missionaries for the last 11 months or so, and over the last week, I was reminded of my profound gratitude for the 6 months I had to teach him while I was in Henderson. Our Mission President was able to attend the baptism, and he sent me some pictures afterwords with the caption, "Great Day for Alan!" So that brought a smile to my face :) I also got to call Alan later that night, and it touched my heart to be able to hear his voice again. Even though he pretty much told stories I've heard a thousand times, that didn't matter so much as I was just ...

Week 46: i don't even know... like burn piles and conference and whatnot?

Image
Subject line pretty much sums up this week. I don't really know what happened. We did service for some friends on Tuesday and raked leaves and sticks into a massive burn pile. A lot of the leaves were wet, so it was tiring. It was a big burn pile. Anyways. The rest of the week was us being pretty busy with lessons and member visits and whatnot. It's always enjoyable when we have a busy week as you feel much more fulfilled. Conference weekend was great! We literally had 9 people watch it! And that number may be higher as some haven't gotten back to us!!! Like what!!! That's the most I've ever seen, so that was awesome. The messages and music all seemed to touch their hearts, and I hope each will act on the impressions they received.  My experience with conference was ok. Not the most spiritually transformative one I've had, but it was still good nonetheless. I enjoyed being extra diligent in-between sessions and making the most about inviting people to listen to ...
