Week 47: Holy Week
Hope you all had a wonderful Holy Week leading up to Easter. It was a good week for us. I thoroughly enjoyed remembering the Savior again by reading over again the Easter stories in the New Testament and Book of Mormon. I also enjoyed sharing our Easter Message with our friends and members.
Perhaps the most exciting thing this week! Alan got baptized!!!๐ฅณ๐๐ฅณ Literally so so so happy for him. He's been working with the missionaries for the last 11 months or so, and over the last week, I was reminded of my profound gratitude for the 6 months I had to teach him while I was in Henderson. Our Mission President was able to attend the baptism, and he sent me some pictures afterwords with the caption, "Great Day for Alan!" So that brought a smile to my face :)
I also got to call Alan later that night, and it touched my heart to be able to hear his voice again. Even though he pretty much told stories I've heard a thousand times, that didn't matter so much as I was just grateful that after 11 months of teaching, Alan is now a baptized and confirmed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ๐
Well, other than that, we did a lot of service this week. My insights from that...
- People underestimate us when it comes to moving books ("You're gonna hate me today! It's books baby!!")
- People underestimate us when it comes to sorting knives
- People underestimate us when it comes to raking leaves (I kind of perfected that ca. week 26)
- People OVERestimate me (not so much us) when it comes to moving pianos ("Do you need a popsicle after that?")
So it was a fun week of service!
Oh, and we had ZLC in Richmond this week. Elder Callahan bought me a shirt that he thought quote "looked like me" close quote. He knows me so well๐
Well! That's that. I'm done writing now!
Love y'all so much, and have a great week!!!
