Week 48: Dove vs. York

Wow, what a week. Not going to lie. This was a difficult one. I've been mentally drained and exhausted pretty much all week. There were some good moments, but overall, glad this one is in the books.

Let's see. Monday, we washed the car. By hand. It was kind of an impulse decesion because I saw car soap in our pantry. Because that's just naturally where missionaries put car wash equipment. Probably 3 years ago. It was an interesting experience. We managed to turn nice and soapy water into brown and dirty water after about 5 minutes, and subsequently left streak marks all over the car. I was glad it rained the next day. And let's be clear, Elder Creer does not get wet.

Said car hit 19,000 miles on Wednesday. Can't believe I've driven like 7,500 of those miles in about 3 months. πŸš˜πŸš™πŸš—

Wednesday was perhaps the best day of the week. We had interviews, and oh my goodness it was amazing! The interview was great, yes (we talked about family, next transfer, and whatnot), but afterwords it was iconic. You see, our mission leaders have this banter where President Alder likes Dove Chocolates and Sister Alder likes Peppermint Yorks. They argue about it all the time (viciously, of course), talking about how the other is apostate and whatnot. Well I decided to settle the debate. I heard this from other missionaries, but I don't think anyone has actually done it. So, I bought some Reece's Minis, and after District Council, when they came back in, I loudly proclaimed that I had solved the debate! And then presented the Reese's. Sister Alder just looked at me and said "I actually like Reece's, Elder Creer," with her hand held out. I delicately placed one on her palm while President Alder reacted by slyly saying, "The Great Apostasy," and started talking about the cunning tactics of the wicked or whatever. It was absolutely hilarious and boosted my spirits. I also joked with them and talked about how I was going to have the entire district bring their bikes on the bike rack so that we could "look good for President" (as a joke of course, because I'm not <<that>> prideful). That also was found hilarious. Anyways, succesful day indeed.

Anyways, we did some service this week and made several more burn piles of leaves

We really tried to emphasize member's participating in our lessons this week, and just everything fell through.

The rest of the week was a finding grind. It was rough. Talked to a Jehovah's Witness for about 20 minutes yesterday. He was really nice, and genuinely wanted to know what we believe. He is probably not going to start meeting with us, but it's always good to see other perspectives and to have someone nice to talk to. Especially after a lot of rejection this week from some promising people.

Anyways, despite the challenges of the week, I'm grateful that the Lord made something out of our day every single day. Even when it felt like we wouldn't have anything "significant" to do (other than just knock doors)πŸšͺπŸšͺπŸšͺ, the Lord made something out of it. Looking back on the last 11 months, I've seen how the Lord magnifies our efforts and how he brings about great things by our small and daily efforts.

Love y'all so much!!
