Week 54: Blessings of Consecrated Service

Image
Well, another week down. This one was pretty exhausting as well. Especially towards the end. Glad it's P-day again. Anyways, this week had a lot of good. Some awesome door knocking, service for a family moving in, a marriage devotional, etc. etc. All the things, baby. We've been grinding on the door knocking here in Winchester, and we've seen a lot of success! This week alone we've found like 4 or 5 people who were interested at the door. Miracles have really been coming across the mission from door knocking over the last 4 or so months we've been allowed to do it! We also helped a family move in this week. Definitely less stressful to be on the helping side of things. I definitely felt for them since 3 weeks ago I was on the other end of that bargain. Perhaps the most tender and joyous miracle of this week was my dear friend Judy getting baptized in Corbin. I will always treasure the sacred experience I had back in January of putting her on date for baptism. Her re...

Week 53: Into Year Two We Go

Image
Ohhh my goodness. Thank GOODness it's P-day. Literally haven't had a p-day in 3 weeks.   2 weeks ago was moving day in Corbin, Last week we had a shortened p-day (see below) and finally we have today! Hallelujah! I'm about to take an all day p-day rather than cutting it off at 6. Lol, I'm kidding. I'm not that apostate. Anyways, this was a good week! Definitely felt it towards the end, but good nonetheless! We put two friends on date for baptism 🎊🥳🎊!!! Tuesday, we had a call with a new friend, and taught her the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She expressed a lot of desire to be baptized and we talked about how as missionaries, you know, that's what we do. We taught her particularly about the gift of the Holy Ghost. She readily accepted to be baptized on July 1st! Later in the week we taught her the Restoration, and her response to the First Vision was so powerful. She simply said, "Wow!" and you could tell she knew it was true! We'll continue to work...

Week 52: A Late One - Winchester, KY Edition

Image
Well hey hey hey! Elder Creer pretty much puts it straight in this one. This week was long, but good. A synopsis: Monday -  Worst P-day of my life. Rip. Basically we moved apartments in Corbin all day long. Was not fun. The Church's dumpster was practically full, and Elder Barfuss and I were both not having it. So we just put a bunch of garbage on the side of the road next to our garbage can. Hopefully Corbin Waste Management can deal with it. PSA to all missionaries (but also anyone): Plz don't hoard a bunch of garbage for future missionaries to deal with. Plz. Thx. Yours Truly,  Elder Creer But it's done now, so I will never have a worse P-day again! Tuesday -  Transfer Tuesday! Woke up bright and early, dropped the key off for our old Corbin aparment, and then made the 2 1/2 hour trek up to Louisville! After visiting and reminiscing with missionaries at the mission office, Elder Edwards and I headed on over to my new area, Winchester, KY. This land is prepared l...

Week 51: Oftentimes the Joy Surfaces Through the Bittersweet

Image
End of an Era Transfer #8 in the books ;) Winchester, KY  Here. I. Come! Yep! I'm moving to Winchester tomorrow! Transfer News came on Saturday morning, and as I suspected, the Lord has called me to serve up in Winchester with Elder Edwards, who is on his last transfer. I'll continue to serve as district leader of the Boone district (what an absolute icon of a name btw imho). Should be good as I know several of the missionaries in the district. I'm excited for what the Lord has in store!! Anyways, I made it a goal this week to leave everything on the line. I reasoned this would probably be my last week ever to serve as a missionary in the Corbin Area, and wanted to leave with absolutely no regrets. And we absolutely Killed it! We found 4 new people, and so many potentials, it wasn't even funny! One such example was an experience we had on Saturday. Why craft something unique when I've already written about it, so I'm going to just verbatim quote it from my jou...

Week 50: The Sacrifice of Soliciting

Image
Well, another week in the KLM. Happy Monday everybody! This week was good! We did a LOT of finding, and it went really really well! On Saturday, we went down to Williamsburg and had an amazing day and placed 7 copies of the Book of Mormon and several Bibles all from door knocking! They were all genuinely curious, and wanted one, rather than forcing it on them. Several of them were students at the University of the Cumberlands, and it was cool to see some Gen Z'ers interested in the Gospel! Anyways, we also had some really good member visits this week, particularly with members I haven't talked with much, if at all, in the past. It was pretty great! Friday! Ok zone conference was so good! Up there as one of the more spiritually powerful ones. At the beginning, our mission leaders related to us their experience at the mission leader seminar they had last week for all the Mission Presidents and wives for the North America Southeast Area. Apparently, Elder Renlund unexpectedly ju...
