Week 54: Blessings of Consecrated Service
Well, another week down. This one was pretty exhausting as well. Especially towards the end. Glad it's P-day again.
Anyways, this week had a lot of good. Some awesome door knocking, service for a family moving in, a marriage devotional, etc. etc. All the things, baby.
We've been grinding on the door knocking here in Winchester, and we've seen a lot of success! This week alone we've found like 4 or 5 people who were interested at the door. Miracles have really been coming across the mission from door knocking over the last 4 or so months we've been allowed to do it!
We also helped a family move in this week. Definitely less stressful to be on the helping side of things. I definitely felt for them since 3 weeks ago I was on the other end of that bargain.
Perhaps the most tender and joyous miracle of this week was my dear friend Judy getting baptized in Corbin. I will always treasure the sacred experience I had back in January of putting her on date for baptism. Her response to what she would do to receive the promise of the gift of the Holy Ghost is etched into my heart forever: "I would do anything." She's such a humble soul who was prepared by God for baptism. She is going to bless her entire family by her decision to be baptized! I had the opportunity to video chat with her shortly after her baptism, and it brought me so much joy to see her face again and be reminded of all our experiences together. Looking forward to seeing her journey to the Temple!
Anyways, we are also seeing so many miracles with friends coming to Sacrament Meeting and progressing towards Baptism. Our friend Holly from last week? We had an awesome pass-off lesson with the Elders in Owingsville (since she technically lives in that area now), and she came to Church yesterday. She is so prepared and is really wanting to be baptized!
Omar? He came to Church with his entire family!! And his son (who is 11 and not baptized) wanted to stay for 2nd hour to see his friends!
Ultimately, I'm just grateful to be apart of this great work. It's so taxing. Yet so rewarding. Grateful for the Savior and His Infinite Atoning Sacrifice. Grateful that I have the sacred opportunity to represent Him. It truly is a joyful experience to be a full-time consecrated disciple to the Lord.
With a grateful heart,
