Week 55: Go Big Blue!
Hey. Not really sure what to write about today. A lot happened though probably.
Went to Lexington on exchanges with the ZLs. Pretty fun party to be a UK elder for a day though. UK campus is gorgeous. Even though there's like no one on campus for the summer, and we did a lot of door knocking on college apartments. It was really fun to be in a big city again. So much fun!
This week was definitely a finding grind though. Lots of door knocking with a lot of rejection. But we had a couple of good finds, so it was overall good. Take for example our mircle filled bike day last Tuesday. We decided to go on our bikes all day on Tuesday, and it went crazy well. Like seriously so much awesome stuff happened. Literally we pull up to an apartment complex with like 100 apartments and the first door we knocked, 2 super interested people came out and sounded like they were wanting us to come back and talk some more. While we were sitting in the shade reporting that, another guy came out of his apartment with his dog, and randomly started talking to us. He offered us freezy pops, and then brought his girlfriend out. She said that she had seen us biking on the road, and she said that we were welcome to come in and talk with them. We ended up teaching the Restoration to him, and hopefully we'll be able to go back soon and teach them both. (she had to go to work, before we started teaching).
We also had interviews, and this was President Alder's last round of interviews before he returns home at the end of the month after serving for 3 years. It was bitter-sweet to sit with him one last time, one-on-one. He shared with me his testimony of the Savior which I trust will remain with me forever. I'm indeed grateful for my consecrated mission president and his companion.
Overall, this was a more difficult week, but I'm grateful that things work out, and that I can keep pressing forward. Looking forward to zone conference on Friday!!
