Week 57: A Semi of Food

Well y'all, another week in the books.

Welcome back to Elder Creer's weekly synopsis. Super exciting stuff, I know.

Turns out they lied to us, and P-day is actually today instead of Wednesday.

Well, this week was interesting. Lots of service. Like a lot. Tuesday we helped our neighbor out by building their ramp for a wheelchair. It took like 3 hours, as all the pieces were scattered throughout their porch and backyard for the last few months (since the last attempt at building it) and their were no instructions. Pretty fun to try and piece it all together. Used about a quarter of the available parts, so hopefully it'll work 🤪

Cool things happening in the work, though! We have a really promising friend in the Beattyville Branch Boundaries (which consists of 5 active member, 2 couples, and one widow). She will be a great blessing to the Branch, and we're really hoping that Nancy will get baptized soon (shoutout to Granny!)

We also had a friend come to Church Yesterday, that hasn't been in several months. He was a great addition to the Ward, and the members were so welcoming to him. In Sunday School, there was a member that made some interesting false doctrine comments (like Jesus Christ will forfeit salvation and live in hell for eternity as a necessary part of His sacrifice for us). Just straight apostate comments, that no one really knows where they came from. But Larry (our friend at Church) brought the Spirit back with an awesome comment about Spiritual food and needing our daily manna.

Fun fact, that same member also believes that Heavenly Father was a failed Mediator, which is why Jesus Christ is now our Mediator. Literally have no idea where he gets all that stuff. Let's just say, I felt the tension in the room as he talked. On the way out, he passed us and told us to come by his house and get some candy from him (freshly made that morning, of course).

Anyways, enough with apostasy and whatnot.
The members showed up this week, and we enjoyed several awesome meals with some families. Our Ward Mission Leader is also just straight up the best (a rare thing I have found on the mission). He relates so well with our friends, and is just hilarious.

But, this is getting long enough. Transfer news comes out Wednesday, and then Transfers will be on Friday. So should be an exciting week. I'm definitely getting a new companion, since my companion has finished up his 2 years. We'll see what happens. Looking forward to another work in the field!

Pictures:

- Semi of food the Church donated. We helped distribute it to about a dozen organizations and food banks in Morehead at a massive warehouse that doubled as an Emergency Services dispatch center on Friday.

- The food we distributed to the Winchester First Baptist Church that we help serve at every Saturday

- District Lunch at El Camino (Fun Fact: they charge for birthday desserts. Also fun fact: I did not request the birthday dessert)

- Fully (yet partially) assembled ramp

- Zone Conference (the Alders' last😥)

'Till next week y'all!!

Sending Love and Prayers,
