Week 58: Pinkwash to Shelbyville

Well! End of an era! Transfer number 9 is in the books, and we saw some changes! Looking back, this has kind of been an insane week. But it was also really awkward that I completely forgot to attach pictures last week. So I'll include those in this email.

Anyways, se had so much happen, I honestly can't even remember what we did on Tuesday. Probably missionary work lol. But Wednesday was fun! We had an awesome lesson with one of our friends in Winchester, and then immediately after that we got transfer calls. Actually, President Alder called us right as we started our lesson with our friend, so we told President that he was going to have to wait an hour. Anyways, once when we got out of the lesson we rushed back to the car, so we could get transfer news, only to be met by a disgruntled lady who aggresively declared, "ONE man and ONE Woman -- They enter a covenant relationship with God!' We were like, "Oh my goodness! You are so right!" She then told us that we shouldn't be limiting heaven to 144,000. So we basically told her that we weren't the JWs and that we weren't polygamists. Still visibly upset, she told us her name, and then rudely stormed into her apartment. We walked back to our car! The joys of being persecuted, am I right? lol. I realize many people have had it far worse

ANYways, transfer news then came, and the Lord has decided to pinkwash the Winchester area! (they brought in Sisters to replace the Elders). I was called by the Lord to move up to Shelbyville, KY to be companions with Elder Smith and Zone Leaders of the Crestwood Zone. And Elder Edwards? As President said - He knew his fate.

I'm not going to lie, I kind of had a feeling that I was only going to be in Winchester for 6 weeks, but it was surreal in the moment, and even more crazy to think all the work we had to do over the next 24 hours to prepare for transfers on Friday.

But yeah, we had a crazy amount of work on Thursday. We had to write up a massive coordination document to communicate all of the miracles that we've seen over the last 6 weeks in Winchester, so that it didn't all go to waste. We seriously saw so many miracles it was crazy, and I was really sad to have to leave it all, but I trust that the Lord knows what's planned for Winchester and Beattyville.

Anyways, here in Shelbyville has been fun. Elder Smith and I get along well, and it's been a miracle filled weekend. We found 4 friends between Friday night and Saturday, and it was awesome to see this land being prepared after coming from the blessed land of Winchester! Anyways, Church was also fun yesterday. The Ward here seems to be pretty cool, and it's fun to be in a building where there's 2 congrgations for the first time on my mission. It was also crazy, because we had dinner with a family last night that lived in our St. Louis Ward for like 3 months in 2013 when we lived there. Their daughter literally remembered Grace from her primary class, which was crazy fun.

Anyways, although I'm still adjusting to the new area, I'm excited for what this transfer brings, and it should be miracle filled!!

With Love,
