Week 63: feeding chickens and whatnot

Image
Hey It's Elder Creer again. Hope you've enjoyed your week I guess. But yeah, honestly, don't even really know what happened this week. I learned that my stories on facebook get a lot more traction if my face is in it. Something about it being facebook or whatever. We also fed some chickens at a members house and naturally filmed them in their glory. See vid for a good time. We went on exchanges this week with the DFTC Elders (the tech elders) which was fun. I went up to La Grange with them and was with Elder Dye for the first time since we were comps for our night in the hotel when we first got to Kentucky over a year ago. We had some good door knocking and enjoyed soccer night as well. Soccer night is a lot more of a workout than volleyball night. We'll leave it at that. I also enjoyed seeing some of the information the Elders have access to as DFTCs. Like they have access to way too much. There is no reason for them to see all of the lease agreements for the Kentuck...

Week 62: village stuff

Image
This week was a lot of working in the Village. Allow me to explain So we got to train the "La Ville" District up north on Wednesday, and naturally, we planned that training the day before. La Ville is an interesting district as it is (obviously) the villages of northern Kentucky and southern Indiana. Not really, but I find it funny to think about it that way. Not really sure why it's called that, imho. The Village is also an hour and 13 minutes from my family's house from when we lived in Cincinnati. So that's a vibe. But yeah, we pretty much stayed inside for 90 % of the day on Tuesday to plan for the village stuff (lol, I can't get over that phrase). We sacrificed basketball night on Tuesday in order to do some Facebook work, and it paid off. Wednesday: The Village. We drove up to Carrollton, KY that morning, enjoyed a lively training on working with members, and then promptly exchanged with the Madison Elders, following a lovely dining sesh at Wendy's...

Week 61: Meeting Week

Image
oh hey 😏 Bullet-point synopsis of the week (complete with added footnotes, for a multi-faceted user experience) *cough* : - In person MLC on Tuesday*  - Had an absolutely awesome week of numbers! - Got a friend to Sacrament Meeting for the first time since being here! Jazzy loved Church and wants to go to Youth Activities on Wednesday and Church again next week with her parents! - Taught some awesome** lessons with some progressing people! - Exchanged with the Frankfort Elders post district lunch at Chick-fil-A. *cough, excuse me* Chicken-fil-A. - ZLC*** - Dinner at the bishop's house on Wednesday. His kids are hilarious, and we played on a swing with them, while their parents dealt with someone buying a horse trailer, or something. See vid - On the subject of Facebook, I started talking with someone who turned out to be a missionary mom in Utah. Not sure why they didn't say they were a member from the beginning. 'Twas funny. But other than that, this week was another ep...

Week 60: A Whirlwind of Fireworks and Rain

Image
What a week! Seriously, so much has happened. I can't even believe that the 4th of July was on Tuesday! But enough said, talk to y'all next week!!! Lol, I guess I'll start with the 4th of July. Naturally, everyone was out partying, so the work was a little interesting. We did some facebook work, and then actually went out and knocked a lot of doors, which was kind of fun. Some guy showed us his Tesla, and he said he may check out Church sometime. The night scene was crazy though. Some people in the neighborhood next to our apartments went off on their fireworks, and gave us a show. It was quite the sight.  It was also quite the sight to see when they accidentally shot off some firework at someone's house, and it lit up their entire driveway and garage.  On Wednesday we went on exchanges with the APs. I went up to their area in Crestwood, and it was unique. Their area is whack. A bunch of rich people, and it's super spread out. But yeah, it was fun to see the entire ...

Week 59: Departures and Arrivals

Image
Oh hey! Long week, but good week, I guess.  The story of this week was pretty much us getting a new Mission Leaders. So that was pretty unique. We had one last call as a mission with President and Sister Alder on Tuesday as they left us with their testimony to continue to be diligently faithful. Our new Mission Leaders arrived Wednesday evening, and it was surreal as we made a new mission chat and watched President and Sister Alder leave the following morning.  Anyways, with new mission leaders, this week has kind of been all over the place. We had an MLC call on Thursday afternoon to just help the McGinns get acquainted with the mission, and they lovingly told us how much they've been praying for us over the last 6 months, and how the Lord loves us. We also had a mini zone conference with them on Saturday evening in which we got to know them a little better. They're hilarious, and I'm excited to serve with them for the next 11 months or so. Anyways, other than that, this w...
