Week 62: village stuff
This week was a lot of working in the Village. Allow me to explain
So we got to train the "La Ville" District up north on Wednesday, and naturally, we planned that training the day before. La Ville is an interesting district as it is (obviously) the villages of northern Kentucky and southern Indiana. Not really, but I find it funny to think about it that way. Not really sure why it's called that, imho. The Village is also an hour and 13 minutes from my family's house from when we lived in Cincinnati. So that's a vibe.
But yeah, we pretty much stayed inside for 90 % of the day on Tuesday to plan for the village stuff (lol, I can't get over that phrase). We sacrificed basketball night on Tuesday in order to do some Facebook work, and it paid off.
Wednesday: The Village.
We drove up to Carrollton, KY that morning, enjoyed a lively training on working with members, and then promptly exchanged with the Madison Elders, following a lovely dining sesh at Wendy's, of course. The employee gave me a free frosty which was fun.
I went up to Madison, IN for exchanges with my former comp, Elder Kalb, which was fun. It's been about 8 months since I've set foot on Indiana earth, and it was unique. Indiana is a whole other world compared to Kentucky. And that's a fact. We spent most of the exchange trying to film this video for the Friends of Christ Facebook Page, and nobody wanted to talk to us and get interviewed about the 2 Great Commandments. It was a vibe as a man came out of a coffee shop and started talking about how "mormons" are infiltrating the government because of the "people skills" they learn on their missions from the Church Brain washing them. Needless to say, he didn't want to be asked how he shows his love for his neighbor.
Friday. Volleyball night. Vibe. We got our friend Jazzy there!!!! Which was so awesome!! She's making some friends which is super exciting!
Jazzy's parents also came to Church on Sunday, and even stayed for 2nd hour which was super great to see as well. We really hope that we can help her parents progress as well, as they're a little more in it to support Jazzy than anything. But we're excited to see where it goes!
But yeah. Enjoy the video of us hanging with Tortoises. The other Ward's Bishop invited us over for dinner last Monday (long story), and he just casually has 10 tortoises roaming his backyard.
Other than that, this week was a vibe. Just Village stuff and whatnot. Until next week!
Much Love,
