Week 67: Can You Beat the Heat?

Image
y'all. I don't know what to write in these anymore. The weeks are flying by, and I don't know what happened this past week. anyways. s/o to Joseph who got home from Bolivia on Thursday!! Literally cannot believe it's been 2 years since I went to his setting apart in Vegas 🤯 This week was hot!!!! It was honestly not as bad as I thought it would be, but we definitely felt the heat as we went out and did the work. But holy cow, like no one wanted to talk. Everyone was so nice in offering us water and telling us things like "y'all need to get out of this heat," but little did they know that they were the only ones preventing us from getting out of said heat. Just talk to the missionaries lol ;) LOL, it wasn't that bad. but I just internally laughed a bit. This week I had a call with Salt Lake City to get a website approved on my phone. It was a trip. But it was fun. I did it with our tech specialist on exchanges, and he started asking about getting Androi...

Week 66: the persona

Well. So many random things this week! We're the rejects moment: So this segment of my email will highlight the funny rejects of the week. - We started talking with these people were working out in their yard. We had a nice little conversation, and then asked if we could share a scripture. He asked us what book we're reading out of. He saw the Book of Mormon and said, "yeah I don't want you read anything out of that." So we shared a Bible verse instead, since, you know, we read from the Bible and love it too! - Picture this. Wholesome conversation with this man at Rural King. He talked about his Church for a bit and asked if we were Mormons. I internally Cringed, but we said yes. Later in the Convo, he was like "yeah... those, Latter-day Saints? I have no idea where they get their crazy ideas. I'm pretty sure they're a cult or something." Lol. We showed him our name tag, and it was hilarious. - We visited a fish fry that was held by a Catholic Ch...

Week 65: pakistan and whatnot

Heyoooo!!! Welcome back friends!!! It's been a party in Shelbyville this past week! Day by day Synopsis. Go! Tuesday: Called our friend over in Pakistan via facebook messenger. She didn't speak English. It was a vibe. So we spoke via google translate for like half an hour, and she said wants a Book of Mormon, so that she can quote "spread it to her entire village" close quote. We'll see how that goes. But hey, pretty cool. We also had a lesson with Jazzy and her mom Janet in the waiting room of the Temple on Tuesday while the youth were inside. So that was kind of cool. Wednesday:  Literally didn't proselyte at all. rip - MLC from 10am to 4pm.  - Then we had to weekly plan since we were exchanging the next day. - Then Dinner - Then a Stake Missionary Coordination call with President Bednar and the like for an hour - Then our District Leader Call.  Vibe  Thursday:  Interviews! Always a treat. I renewed my Temple recommend with President McGinn and it's cr...

Week 64: run it back

y'all. the era has not ended. Elder Smith and I will be together another 6 weeks. So that'll be a blast... But... on to the weekly recap! Absolutely destroyed it with MPLs this week (member participating lessons). We got 7 which is literally the most I've ever had on my mission, so that was crazy. We've had a lot of really awesome lessons with promising friends, and now we're just trying to get them to come to Church! Jazzy, Janet, and Tony continue to progress well. All three of them were at Church yesterday which was super cool. We went to youth activities with Jazzy on Wednesday which was with 3 wards, and Elder Bednar's grandkids were there, and we talked with them for a second. That was kind of fun and crazy.  We got a brand new car lol. After our brand new blue chevy equinox was rear ended in the middle of the night in the parking lot last transfer with 400 miles on it, we finally brought it into the shop to get fixed. Our vehicle coordinator showed up and...
