Week 66: the persona

Well. So many random things this week!

We're the rejects moment:
So this segment of my email will highlight the funny rejects of the week.
- We started talking with these people were working out in their yard. We had a nice little conversation, and then asked if we could share a scripture. He asked us what book we're reading out of. He saw the Book of Mormon and said, "yeah I don't want you read anything out of that." So we shared a Bible verse instead, since, you know, we read from the Bible and love it too!

- Picture this. Wholesome conversation with this man at Rural King. He talked about his Church for a bit and asked if we were Mormons. I internally Cringed, but we said yes. Later in the Convo, he was like "yeah... those, Latter-day Saints? I have no idea where they get their crazy ideas. I'm pretty sure they're a cult or something." Lol. We showed him our name tag, and it was hilarious.

- We visited a fish fry that was held by a Catholic Church group and the local Clear Creek Park. We were told by the Sisters that they had just talked with one of the workers that morning and that he was really nice and wanted to meet us. We end up talking with him for like 10 or so minutes and he was really nice, but the guy who was greeting everyone as they walked in did not like us at all, and said to us (and his coworker) in a passive aggressive tone, y'all need to leave and talk somewhere else or something. You're detering away the people. Like holy cow, sheesh. Anyways, it was kind of funny and we just laughed about it afterwords. His coworker (the one we were talking with) looked kind of shocked that he said that.

- And then you know, the usual slams in the door, or wave us off while saying "nah."

People just be like that sometimes I guess. Lol

Anyways, the rest of the week was alright, I guess. A little tough to plan out all the time that we had, but we had some good finds with some promising people.

Yesterday our Bishopric was reorganized, and it was so Spiritual! President Bednar is so awesome, and powerfully brought the Spirit as he shared some insights on the process of calling a Bishop.

In our missionary coordination meeting yesterday our ward mission leader said that I was quote "developing a facebook persona" close quote. LOL it was so funny! He said that I'm always like doing some pose with my face in the shot. Which is actually true, because I legit get 8 to 10 times more views and interactions if my face is in my story (my guess is that Facebook's algorithm puts stories with faces in them at the beginning of people's feed, but who knows). It was so funny. Later in the day, I gave him a preview of some of my upcoming pics.

We found this awesome lady who's boyfriend is a former member. We ended up talking with both of them for about half an hour on their porch. While talking with him, she was legit scouring through that Book of Mormon, and found the word Depression and anxiety in the index. Later we texted her if she had been able to read any of the Book of Mormon. She said that some of the depression and anxiety lines "hit hard" lol.

Anyways! The school year is officially back, and it's going to be fun to see where the next 9 months take me. By the time y'all are out next May, I'll be hittin' the streets of Fayetteville, baby!

Peace!

Love Y'all Tons!
