Week 76: trunk or treating in the village

Image
Hey y'all. Happy halloween! Go peek the new post up on my facebook persona. Like and subscribe lol. Anyways, this week was good. Lots of cool stuff. Exchanges up with Madison again. I was in Shelbyville this time with Elder Black and Elder Carlson.  Exchanges went well. We taught an absolutely drunk guy, and two sober guys. One of the sober guys had a shooting in the alley right next to his house the previous night. So that was interesting. they hunted the guy down in Louisville. We have also been playing the man hunt game because a member that's a cop told us that there's a sussy guy in our apartment complex, so we've been scouting him out 👀 We rode bikes all day Friday and it was super fun! We got two flat tires within 20 minutes of riding, but it was a vibe! 12 miles onto my bike that I've ridden for probably 25 miles in total lol. I think we're gonna start doing one day a week, because it was pretty fun. Volleyball slayed as per uzsh We were the judges at t...

Week 75: scavenger hunt

Image
Sheesh. It's been a week. Ok, so like Monday through Thursday was mid at best. Our member meal with Bishop on Tuesday night carried fr. The Weekend was grand though. Friday: Exchanges in Frankfort. I went there again with a first transfer trainee, Elder Granados. He's 26, and has an awesome testimony. Holy cow they have so many yellow dots (interested people), it was amazing. We literally set up like 5 lessons, taught a couple lessons on the spot, and called like 20 people with most answering. It was a nice change of pace from door knocking (Tuesday to Thursday rip). We also taught English Class which was actually pretty cool (they're Spanish/English Elders). Teaching English is a lot different from learning Spanish. It was eye opening. Saturday: Ok this day popped off. It was actually epic. We did a Zone Scavenger hunt. I'll attach a screenshot of our end of day stuff, but it was epic. There's only one more week of our transfer long spooky challenge, and this wee...

Week 74: joy in camping?

hey hey hey! Another week in the books! This one was a banger, so buckle up! Monday we played "Ryan's Course." It was a fun disc golf course. We pretty much joked around the entire time about how we're gonna find this said Ryan and beat him at his own course. Lol.  We then had 2 1/2 hours of meetings for our Monday night proselyting. lol again.  Exchanges! I went up to Madison, Indiana with Elder Black and Elder Carlson while their trainee spent the day down here with Elder Murray! It was seriously so fun to be up there with them! We did a lot of finding up there, including walking down the riverwalk right on the Ohio River. We started talking with this one family who's 10 year old kid yelled the f bomb across the river looking through one of those telescope things. It was a vibe. It was some fun times up there though. We found this guy named Blue (who is so named because of the color of his eyes) who was asking some pretty cool questions. Such as "why are th...

Week 73: fall festival!

Image
Y'all this week hit different. Like so much happened. It was so good. So it's pretty much confirmed that quarter 4 of the year is always the best.  Last Monday we went to Gallrein Farms which is pretty much the Kindergarten field trip spot for fall festivities. Low-key one of the best P-days of my mission. We didn't spend a cent on anything, but went around getting a bunch of vsco pics for the facebook persona that we're building. They had a petting zoo, some farm hoops, an obstacle course, a huge hay pyramid, and a bunch of cool vibes. Good times. Ok other random musings of the week. Started talking to a Messianic Jew. He's pretty cool. He had us pray while holding his staff that he parted a 40ft tall body of water with. He said it was just a stick, so don't be weirded out. Non-revelatory exchanges. We've had to reschedule our exchange with the Madison, IN Elders 3 times now. Pray that the 4th one will work out tomorrow. smh in my head. Weirdest small world...

Week 72: Thinking Celestial

Well y'all, it's officially Spooky szn! What a week though here in the KLM. Sheesh, so much happened. We went on exchanges with the APs Tuesday and Elder Kopinsky and I had an awesome time here in Shelbyville! We talked a lot about a bunch of different things like school, the gospel, life, etc. Definitely an impactful exchange, fr fr. Wednesday we got to go to the Temple!!! Again! I got pretty lucky since it had been a bit since Elder Murray had been, so I got to tag along with him since I apparently can't be alone without a companion. It was wonderful to be in the House of the Lord again. I was grateful to be able to be in a session with several other missionaries that I know as well which was cool going through with them.  I don't even know what we did Thursday. Actually never mind, I made an MTC social media coordinator cry because of a shoutout I gave her. So I guess that was something. It was good crying. Not bad crying. I promise. Oh, I forgot. The Frankfort Eld...
