Week 73: fall festival!

Y'all this week hit different. Like so much happened. It was so good. So it's pretty much confirmed that quarter 4 of the year is always the best.

Last Monday we went to Gallrein Farms which is pretty much the Kindergarten field trip spot for fall festivities. Low-key one of the best P-days of my mission. We didn't spend a cent on anything, but went around getting a bunch of vsco pics for the facebook persona that we're building. They had a petting zoo, some farm hoops, an obstacle course, a huge hay pyramid, and a bunch of cool vibes. Good times.

Ok other random musings of the week.

Started talking to a Messianic Jew. He's pretty cool. He had us pray while holding his staff that he parted a 40ft tall body of water with. He said it was just a stick, so don't be weirded out.

Non-revelatory exchanges. We've had to reschedule our exchange with the Madison, IN Elders 3 times now. Pray that the 4th one will work out tomorrow. smh in my head.

Weirdest small world moment. We're knocking doors in the thriving metropolis of Simpsonville, KY. Population ca. 3k. We get to this house, and our newfound homie, the retired Hobie, comes out and starts talking with us. He said that his daughter-in-law's nephews (i didn't know that was like a common close relationship, but whatevs ig) all served missions and were from Columbus, IN. So I'm like, wait, what were their names. Our man legit knew the Spurling kids from Indiana. He started talking about Chase and Connor. It was so crazy. Hobie also makes baskets i n his basketry club, and his wife made huge rugs before she passed away a few years ago. So shoutout to the Larsons on this chat. He probably isn't going to join the Church as he's pretty set in his faith, but still cool nonetheless.

Exchanges with the DFTCs. for everyone who those letters mean nothing to you, know that I still don't really know what they mean. They're pretty much the tech Elders that run some of the Facebook Friends of Christ page. It was a party as Elder Jeffs and I ran it up, down here in Shelbyville. It was so fun honestly. He made me laugh so much. Volleyball night hit different. The next day we trained at their district council, which consists of the APs the SMLs, and the DFTCs. So pretty much like training in front of the CEO, CFO, and COO of a major coorporation. Lowkey, the training went kind of hard, ngl. #choosethemasterclassofmortality #missioninfluencers.  Lol I crack myself up.

Their district council is at the building right next to the Temple, and it was so awesome to see a bunch of members from Corbin be at the Temple that day. Literally made my heart leap when I saw such icons as the Waites, Maguets, and Tanners.

Anyways, this week had some really really good moments. There were some hard parts. Like filling the font for the Carrolton Sisters for their baptism that got cancelled 30 minutes before the service. Also filling our schedule is a little rough sometimes, but overall it was a great week, and am looking forward to the rest of quarter 4 of the year and the onset of sweater weather!

Peace baby!
