Week 74: joy in camping?

hey hey hey!

Another week in the books!

This one was a banger, so buckle up!

Monday we played "Ryan's Course." It was a fun disc golf course. We pretty much joked around the entire time about how we're gonna find this said Ryan and beat him at his own course. Lol. 

We then had 2 1/2 hours of meetings for our Monday night proselyting. lol again. 

Exchanges!
I went up to Madison, Indiana with Elder Black and Elder Carlson while their trainee spent the day down here with Elder Murray! It was seriously so fun to be up there with them! We did a lot of finding up there, including walking down the riverwalk right on the Ohio River. We started talking with this one family who's 10 year old kid yelled the f bomb across the river looking through one of those telescope things. It was a vibe. It was some fun times up there though. We found this guy named Blue (who is so named because of the color of his eyes) who was asking some pretty cool questions. Such as "why are there so many churches?" He seems pretty promising.

Zone Conference!!!!
Ok part of the reason we had so many meetings Monday night was to plan for the best zone conference training ever! Zoco was so good. So much better than hoco imho. President and Sister McGinn talked a lot about working with members in the morning. In the afternoon, we gave a training on using inspired questions, and we read from the scriptures in groups of the Savior asking questions to those He interacted with. It was fire.
Also, the Capitol View district totally destroyed the go-to scripture challenge. The memories made were epic.

idk what else happened, smh. Other than CHARLIE'S BAPTISM!!!!!!! Holy cow! My man in Winchester is the newest member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!! If you would of told me that he was getting baptized a month ago, I would have probably laughed in your face. Elder Edwards and I found him in Winchester over the summer and started teaching him. But he really started to progress over the last little bit, and he got baptized!!! So exciting!! Also, @Elder Kalb - Tell Elder Edwards this, because I don't have his email, and he won't respond on messenger (also tell me his email).

But actually, a lot of other stuff happened this week (like casually inviting Angela to be baptized!!) It was so cool, and she said that she's already been praying about baptism. She's so awesome. She also spent all night (until 4am) doing family history work after a member showed her family search. Prayer's up for Angela!

We had zone camp day (we stayed out of our apartment from 10am to 9pm without returning home ever) on Saturday and it was epic. It was part of our transfer long spooky challenge to win dessert from Sister McGinn. Its been so fun to make a point system around the whole thing.

Ok one more miracle story. Found this lady on Facebook like a month ago named Lisa and she is so golden. We referred her to the missionaries in her area, and she's already making friendship bracelets for them lol. So that's epic!

Anyways, sorry for the absolute travelogue of an email. Absolutely nothing was funny in this. I literally have no comedic value after 17 months (today!) of being a missionary. rip to my entire life i guess.

Week 104: Departing Testimony

  Wow. First of all! Happy Mother's Day! So grateful for my Mom, and for all the other mothers of the world. It was a good day yesterday to get to call my Mom and as some say, "chop it up." Other than yesterday, this week was a bit of a grinder again, but that's ok. We had my last Zone Conference on Wednesday which was really wholesome and caused a lot of reflection for me. We trained and talked a lot about Chapter 8 of Preach My Gospel. I was also able to bear my departing testimony which was such a surreal experience. I bore testimony of how Jesus Christ has sustained me over the last 2 years, through the highs and lows. Of how the Book of Mormon and the words of living prophets are the key to spiritual survival. I was the only one in the group going home, so it was kind of weird to be the only one there, but it was a good time.  The rest of the week has been a LOT of finding, and it's been a little tough, but we've been making the most of it. Week 53: Into Year Two We Go

  Ohhh my goodness. Thank GOODness it's P-day. Literally haven't had a p-day in 3 weeks.   2 weeks ago was moving day in Corbin, Last week we had a shortened p-day (see below) and finally we have today! Hallelujah! I'm about to take an all day p-day rather than cutting it off at 6. Lol, I'm kidding. I'm not that apostate. Anyways, this was a good week! Definitely felt it towards the end, but good nonetheless! We put two friends on date for baptism 🎊🥳🎊!!! Tuesday, we had a call with a new friend, and taught her the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She expressed a lot of desire to be baptized and we talked about how as missionaries, you know, that's what we do. We taught her particularly about the gift of the Holy Ghost. She readily accepted to be baptized on July 1st! Later in the week we taught her the Restoration, and her response to the First Vision was so powerful. She simply said, "Wow!" and you could tell she knew it was true! We'll continue to work...

Week 98: Picturesque Thai

Hey hey hey party peeps! How's it going? Good week in the KLM. Indiana is a vibe, and I got to see a lot of a lot of Southern Indiana this week as we went on exchanges with the Tell City Elders. I went there with Elder Meilstrup, which was a fun little reunion from back when I was his district leader in Winchester. We got some fun work done there and even crossed over into the Kentucky half of their area and found a few potentials. We exchanged back that night over in New Albany as we had Zone Conference the next day, so we just had all of us stay the night in New Albany. Zone conference was good. It wasn't anything too crazy. It started to hit me that I'm the next group for giving departing testimonies, so that's super weird. We emphasized Preach My Gospel a lot as well as our purpose as missionaries and it sounded like the zone really enjoyed it. The rest of the week was good.
