Week 80: Trottin' through Etown

Image
I am convinced that these last few weeks have been some of the busiest times of my mission. Like holy cow! It has been so fun to see us work hard and hit two days of 30 testifying contacts this week. I know I did it last week, but there is just so much stuff to get through, and I don't want to bore anyone with paragraphs, so I'm gonna bullet point again. - The Cuh got baptized (aka Isaac)! Got to zoom in the day before Thanksgiving and see my youngest brother get baptized. Super exciting! - Thanksgiving Day! Our mission did a Turkey Trot Thursday morning again, and our zone ran a combined total of 100 miles! One trio in our zone ran a marathon if they added their miles up individually. Called family, and enjoyed a good lesson with a new friend - Holy cow, referrals went crazy this week. But none of like the actual kind that come through the Church's website. We had 3 people personally reach out to us or someone else that they were wanting to meet with us. One of these was a...

Week 79: Tri-Citian 18 Months

Hey! Another week in the books y'all. This week was a good week of consecration and sacrifice. It was good though.  We enjoyed a great week of literally so much stuff happening. #BullettPoint time - FSY Interview. 2nd real job interview. The rest have been "what's your availability?" This one was tell me about a time where you chastized someone lol. Not really, but kind of. - Testified a lot. - Phone got rolled over by a car. Rip. - Broke False limitations by cutting a hole in a piece of paper large enough to drive an Equinox through. #StillChristian. - Hit 18 months!!! 6 months to home. - Trained in the Deep South on Lighthouses and being the Lower Lights for others. See "The LIght of the Y" by the one and only President Kevin W. Worthen - As part of that District Council, we drank from the historic Sulphur Well water. It was disgusting. Rank of Sulphur. And yes, I'm British now. - Blitzed the Campbellsville Elders. Enjoyed knocking some random doors ...

Week 78 (part 2): Culver's Confounds

Holy cow, so much has happened in 3 days! What a great half week of proslyting! We had 12 testifying contacts and 4 lessons each day since Thursday, and even though that's definitely short of 30/30, we're still pushing for it! We have felt so dilligent and motivated. It's been so awesome! We found so many potentials this week, it wasn't even funny. There were several times where I was in profound disbelief that what was happening, was actually happening. Take for example our night out with our friend at Culver's. Flashback to last Tuesday, we met our friend who seemed pretty interested in the message of the Book of Mormon, as he had studied a little about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the past. We texted him Thursday or Friday to try and set up a time to meet, and he comes back with us saying to pick the time and place, and he will buy us food. It was epic. So next thing we know, I'm sitting in a Culver's in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and ...

Week 77 (and 1/2): e-town-ian drama

Sheesh. This has been a week and a half. I'm writing half of this on Sunday night to cover the first half of this "week" lol. But needless to say, it's been a busy one.  First of all transfers happened this week. To paint the scene, consider this scenario. Elder Murray and I pull up to our friends long-term care facility and as we begin the lesson, we get a text from President asking if we can talk. Rip. We proceed to teach this guy with my heart racing the entire time, practically knowing I'm getting transferred 😥. At the end, our friend left us with a prayer, which included that Elder Murray and I would "one day become Apostles or other Senior Leaders in the Church" and that we would do great things in life. LOLOLOL! Elder Murray and I about died laughing in the prayer, as he was dead serious. It was so funny. With that as the scene, I got called to move down to Elizabethtown, Kentucky (aka E-town). So yeah, that's been my home for like a week now...
