Week 78 (part 2): Culver's Confounds

Holy cow, so much has happened in 3 days! What a great half week of proslyting! We had 12 testifying contacts and 4 lessons each day since Thursday, and even though that's definitely short of 30/30, we're still pushing for it! We have felt so dilligent and motivated. It's been so awesome! We found so many potentials this week, it wasn't even funny. There were several times where I was in profound disbelief that what was happening, was actually happening.

Take for example our night out with our friend at Culver's. Flashback to last Tuesday, we met our friend who seemed pretty interested in the message of the Book of Mormon, as he had studied a little about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the past. We texted him Thursday or Friday to try and set up a time to meet, and he comes back with us saying to pick the time and place, and he will buy us food. It was epic. So next thing we know, I'm sitting in a Culver's in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and our friend legit brings 3 pages of anti straight from anti-mormon.web. It was so funny how textbook it was. But you could tell he was actually genuine and serious and wanted to know the truth. We proceeded to answer every one of his questions, and every single time he just was confounded and didn't really have a response. We testified that ultimately, it comes down to whether or not the Book of Mormon testifies of Christ, and if you can draw closer to the Savior by studying it. All of the contreversies can be answered with some element of explanation and understanding, but that that will go nowhere, without a witness and testimony that the Book of Mormon is indeed the Word of God and can change your life. The Spirit was tangible, and we felt the power of testifying that his life could change.

Yesterday we had too much on our schedule that we didn't have time for lunch. #NoonChurch. So that was rough. But we made our way through some awesome lessons. One of our friends just gave a copy of the Book of Mormon to his roommate, so that was kind of epic. Elder Nelson and I just kind of looked at each other when he asked if he could join in while we were teaching our friend. It was pretty cool.

Oh, Elders Quorum. How could i forget about Elders quorum. What a blessed opportunity we had to listen to a 35 minute youtube video from a devotional in Rexburg, Idaho from 40 years ago. It was bold. IF you want some entertainment, in Elders Quroum play "Why 1820?" by Hyrum W. Smith (not an apostle), the next time you teach. Holy cow that was bold. We just sat and listened. And didn't discuss. It was perhaps the most unique Elders Quorum of my mission. I legit almost laughed out loud several times as I looked at Elder Nelson and wondered why on earth we were listening to this in a meeting in the Church. But whatevs. It worked out. LOLOL

But yeah. We're tired. It's been a long 3 days, and I'm glad that we get to have pday again today after a week and a half last time. I'm grateful that Thanksgiving is coming up and that I have the opportunity to give this holiday season fully to the Lord, the second time around. Looking forward to the great things that will happen in Etown this week.
