Week 103: Run for the Roses! 150th Edition

Wow. What a week! Low-key don't even know where to start. This was a vibe of a week.

In all honesty, this week was a bit of a find grind. But that's aight. We were able to talk about family history with a friend yesterday, and we're excited to teach him again tomorrow. We're really hoping that he will progress as it's been a struggle to find here the last little bit.

In terms of wild things, this week involved an exchange in Salem Indiana, a member meal that involved a guy incessantly wanting to know our bucket list for life while flexing his on us, the 150th Kentucky Derby, and member meal involving a dressed up Jockey.

SALEM:
Interesting and fun exchange. We got to teach a few people which was fun, and we also did some facebook work at the town square, which was pretty cool. I got to be with Elder Adams again, which was super fun.

BUCKET LIST:
The members in Salem that fed us had some non-member family staying with them for Derby weekend. It was always on their bucket list to go to the Derby so they went all out to go to their first one. It was a vibe as I scarfed down some allergenic Praline ice cream #NotTodayAnaphylacticShock

DERBY:
We had a zone camp day on derby day (but it was actually May the 4th day themed, not horses). Essentially we stayed outside all day.

MEMBER MEAL #2:
Holy Cow this might be the biggest meme of a member meal of my mission. We ate with the Tucketts again on the night of the Derby, and Brother Tuckett opened the door in full Jockey attire ready to run the race. They served a full course Kentucky and Derby themed dinner, and we enjoyed Kentucky Hot Brown Sandwiches, Cheese Grits, Broccoli Jubilee, mint julep lemonade (minus the alcohol lol), derby pie (also #NotToday), and other classics. We got some pictures in Jockey outfits and derby hats after and we all sang together "My Old Kentucky Home" and "Run for the Roses" LOL. What a day.

RUN FROM THE COPS:
Oh wait, what?

Yesterday we broke our fast with the Spanish and Bike Elders, and we witnessed some domestic violence take place outside their apartment. We called the cops. So that was a vibe.

But yeah, this was overall a tough week, but a good week. We got the work done, and I look forward to zone conference this coming week. #DepartingTestimony time. So Surreal.

But yeah! Love y'all so much! Let me know your summer plans!

Peace!
