Week 24: Oh...uh (subtle laugh)...I don't believe in the mormons...

Happy Happy Halloween! First of all, the next person to call me a quote on quote "Mormon", is not going to have a happy halloween...lol, but sorry. Tbh, the term mormon sounds like an insult...I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, plz, thank you, next. Basically the way this conversation went was we had a super awesome lesson over the phone with this lady a couple weeks ago, and she said that she would like to come to church with us sometime. Well, we basically get blocked by her. We go over to her apartment, and we unblocked ourselves from her phone (literally lol) because we didn't think she blocked us on purpose, and we didn't really think she knew how to use her phone very well. Anyways. We set up another phone lesson and we're blocked again. 2 weeks go by and we stop by her apartment and she said that today she was pretty busy and couldn't talk. SO...we naturally ask when would be a better time, and she said "Oh, I don't re...

Week 23: "Of course, I was baptized 'Mormon' at 11"

Hey y'all! Happy Monday! This week was good, I guess. Things are slowing down though, as the temperature is dropping. Not a whole lot of people outside to talk to, so we'll see what the next few weeks look like. Anyways, this week we saw a lot of cool unplanned lessons. We showed up to the house of someone we've been teaching for a bit. A different guy named Phillip comes out and said that our friend wasn't home. Anyways, we get to talking to Phillip, and he's like super cool and thinks it's awesome what we're doing. He then says, "well y'all, I just got off work so I'm gonna go have some me time."  We were like "yeah, good to meet you man!" And then out of nowhere he's just says, "hey do y'all do Bible studies with people?"  "Yeah, of course!"  "Well, come on in!"  So we totally just have an awesome Bible study with this guy who studies the Bible on his own for 2-3 hours a day. It was so co...

Week 22: Some umm... spooky szn I guess

Welcome back y'all! It is officially sweater weather! Fun fact: the missionary department deems "hastags" apostate and filters out any email with a hashtag in the subject line sent to us. Mom and I found this out the hard way as she sent over the blog a couple of weeks ago with a hastag in the subject line. So I guess I won't say #sweaterweather or #spookyszn in my email. Oops, I just did. *yikes!* So hopefully, you know, this email will go through with my sinful use of #. (As what could be a greater sin than this?) Moving on from that, this week was pretty busy. Lots of cool lessons and member visits. We had a young adult member move in to our branch, who we've been working with over the phone the last month or so. For a variety of reasons he couldn't come to Church for a bit, because of his situation. But he came last weekend, and this weekend he totally just brought a friend with him to Church. Like what?!? That certainly makes missionary work easy, when ...

Week 21: Double Double, Toil and Trouble (Pt. 4)

Hi. Welcome back to Elder Creer's monologue I guess. Well it's transfer news again and I am staying another one in Henderson with Elder Kalb! I'm honestly pretty glad. At the beginning of this week, I was kind of feeling like I failed in holding up this area, but I get another 6 weeks to see what we can do. So that'll be fun. But at the same time it'll be crazy to think that I will have lived in Henderson, Kentucky for 6 months of my life by the time this next one is over. Also! Shoutout to Sister Matthews and Sister Henderson starting the MTC today! Looking back, the MTC was probably one of the more fun parts of my mission (albeit one of the most difficult). So I hope that y'all will both love it! But anyways, this week was unique. Tuesday through Thursday were such a drag it wasn't even funny. Like we literally knocked doors all day. So fun. But the last half of the week was pretty good. We FINALLY found a new person to teach last night, so that was awes...

Week 20: "That is a lot of years!"

Image
Well howdy y'all, another week gone by! I hope you all loved conference as I know I did. General conference is seriously my favorite time of year, as we get to be filled with the Spirit learning from ordained servants of God. Also, President Nelson, what on earth! You can't be sitting in a chair like that! You have to make it to 100 years! I thought his facebook post after the Saturday morning session was so funny. He said that he's lived for more than half of the years the organized Church has been around and then he said "That is a lot of years" which I literally laughed out loud to. It was so funny to me. The man defies his age, but I guess he needed to sit down. Lame.  Also, 4 temples in Mexico City! That is like unheard of, even for Utah. Anyways, we also had zone conference this week which was great as well. We focused a lot on Chapter 4 of Preach My Gospel, and how to better connect with the Holy Ghost.  In my humble opinion, I played the piano phenomenally...
