Week 41: We've been (quote) going around... (close quote)

Happy 27th friends! Hope all is well!  Can't believe it's almost March of 2023. Crazy, let me tell ya. Let's see, let's see. Started the week off with a flat tire. Kind of a fun experience, not gonna lie. Haven't changed a tire since we got a flat in Zion's National Park a few years ago, so it was kind of a fun. The donut wheel carried us to a local tire shop in which we sat in the lobby for an hour making calls and sending texts. When we were getting ready to pay, the guy comes out and says that we need to "tell our boss that this is a $29 piece of metal as he chucks the nail or whatever onto the table in front of us. After that, this week felt like a lot of random things. We did some yellow dot contacting. Some door knocking. Some member visits. And even had a few awesome lessons. Our area is insane and has like 105 yellow dots because we get like 3 referrals a day, and our goal is to whittle that down to 50 by the end of Elder Barfuss' training. We...

Week 40: Diligence and Pressing Forward

Happy P-day, y'all!!! ahahaha, get it? Ahahahahaha Well 'twas transfer week.  I'm not going to lie, I don't think there could be a better week for me to begin training a new missionary. 2 days early of 9 months, I gave birth to a healthy Elder. A little weirder written out than in my head, but we'll just leave it at that. Elder Barfuss is my new companion, all the way from Burley, Idaho. He's come with a passion for the work and a sincere desire to help others, so I'm grateful for that. After roughly 6 hours on the road and 3 hours of transfers/trainings, we hit the ground running Tuesday night with some contacts and member visits. The grind never stops my friends, the grind never stops Haven't had a day off in 280 days as of today, so that's fun to think about sometimes. But the hard work pays off!! We put a friend on baptism date on Thursday!!! WoooHooo! Jason is now on date for March 25th. It's gonna be interesting to see if he will make tha...

Week 39: training part 2

Hi. Elder Creer again.  Another week in the field. Another transfer in the books. Transfer number 7 Here. We. Come! For the next installment in my mission, Elder Lichlyter will be heading up to Lexington to Bluewash (Elders replacing Sisters) an area up there. And I will be staying down here in Corbin and training a brand new missionary. So yeah. I'll most likely be in Corbin for 6 months by the end of my time here. What! Literally the best Ward ever, so I'm not complaining. Anyways, this week was super great. Tiring, but good. I'm reminded of the phrase often said by the MTC President's wife... "Faint, yet persevering." We played pickleball with the youth for activities Wednesday night. It was super awkward though because A) it wasn't regulation on a carpeted Gym (slash Chapel) floor and B) they for some reason put us Elders together and we beat like 5 teams in a row of kids who had never played pickleball in their life. Not going to lie, I was uncomfor...

Week 38: zc part 6 and helping people come closer to Christ

Happy Monday party people! Elder Creer is officially past the worst month of the year and is "ready for the 5 days of Valentines" - according to Mom. Anyways, this week was kind of slow at first again, but it definitely picked up towards the end of the week. We had a member participating lesson this week for the first time in a bit with our friend on Baptism date. It was pretty cool and we taught her the Restoration. She already has great faith in Jesus Christ, and recognizes that the devil is going to try and stop her from progressing. She said pretty powerfully that she is not going to let him stop her, which was really awesome. The member (who lives up in London) treated (?) us to the original KFC in Corbin afterwords since he hasn't been before. It was better than last time (see Week 29) but still I would pick 10 other chicken places over it. Glad I gave it a second chance though. (to seal its fate?) Let's see, let's see. What else.  Meghan Trainer is pregna...
