Week 37: Quote Board

Image
How's it going fam!?! This week was pretty good not gonna lie. To be honest, the first like 4 days were a bit of a drag, but that's all good. We had a really awesome weekend with 6 friends at Church. Granted 2 of them are gray dots (not interested people), but still, it was pretty cool.  Anyways, on the agenda this past week... Exchanges with Liberty Elders: We had some guy come up to us while we were filling up gas and say he'd like to meet with the missionaries again. (he apparently met with some missionaries for a bit just north of Columbus, Indiana a few years back. So that was cool I guess. We spent the day contacting down in Russell Springs which we saw a lot of success in. Oh, and how could I forget, We spent an hour from 8:30 to 9:30 doing the dishes in a bathtub.  No further comments needed. Interviews: Interviews were on Wednesday. Spiritual experience as always. Love President Alder to death. Jail: We went to Jail on Saturday. To visit a member referral from ...

Week 36: Exchanges and Busy-ness

Image
Happy Monday Y'all. Hope all is well. Hope you enjoy my luke warm salutations, complete with passive aggressive periods. This week has been busy! We've done a lot. And I took about zero pictures to prove it, so that's a bit of an L. ANYways, we had a lot of good work this week complete with like 5 set-up member present lessons, and all 5 of those not working out. But that's all good, we still did a lot of good work this week and saw our friends progress. Remember that excommunicated friend. Turns out she wasn't ever officially excommunicated, so that's some serious progression if I've ever seen it. She even came to Church yesterday, which was super awesome. We also have been working with a less active member, who has read the Book of Mormon every day for the last week and a half (what!!!). He apparently was up all night with his granddaughter Saturday night, but still came to Church the next day. Granted, after Sacrament meeting he turned to us and said (i...

Week 35: Miracles from Above

Image
Wow! This week has seriously been amazing! We have seen so many miracles, and it was super needed after last week's slump in the work.  We found 3 new friends this week and they all seem super promising (granted one of them is an excommunicated member, but hey, that's apart of the repentance process sometimes).   We also invited one of our friends to be baptized on Saturday! And she said YES! She said that she would do anything to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and have the constant companionship of the Spirit. It was a really cool lesson because Elder Lichlyter and I planned on teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to her, and were thinking of inviting her to be baptized. But we decided to just leave it as an option, and if the Spirit directs, we do it. Anyways, we get there, and it's just insane. There's dogs everywhere barking like crazy, the TV is on, and her sick Father in law is laying on a gurney in the room. So it was a little chaotic. Mind you, this is the fi...

Week 34: Part 6 happenings

Image
Ok, we're a week into the worst month of the year! Only 3 weeks left! Let's see, let's see. Well we had transfers on Tuesday, so that was unique. We drove up to Richmond Tuesday morning to drop off Elder Callahan. Pretty sad, but we still get to see him pretty often since he's our zone leader now. Then we drove back down to Corbin to work. Or should I say  I  drove back down to Corbin. Oh my goodness, the day has finally come! I am now the designated driver! Ahh! I've been waiting for this forever! Amazing, let me tell you. Granted TiWi is a bot, and the Equinox is not a good car, but still. This'll probably be the nicest car I drive for a bit, so I'm not going to complain. Ok, but I'll also just comment on the transition from trio to duo again. Basically it's the exact same transition from my 1st and 2nd transfer. We went from talking all the time, to not a lot of talk. And it's weirdly silent sometimes, but that's ok. We still like each o...

Week 33: Roadtrippin' in the KLM

Image
Insert cliche greeting on the 2nd day of the year!!! lol What a week! To be honest we've done so much this week, I can't even remember half of it. So... Monday, we went to Cumberland falls which was actually so cool because it was still recovering (is that the right word??) from the -20⁰ weather from last weekend. See pictures I guess. This week my companions and I got to go to the temple in Crestwood. It was so amazing, and I loved getting to be back in the House of the Lord. Honestly, it was a little overwhelming to go back into the mission field after our session, as it was so nice to be able to sit in the Celestial room, not wearing the name tag. But, this is the greatest work I could be doing on earth, and I look forward to what the future holds. The next day we had new missionary training for Elder Lichlyter, and it was a brief 5 hour meeting. We enjoyed discussing techniques on training, mental health with our new mission counselor, and other fun topics.  The weekend ...
